Leona is from Perth and studied Aquatic Bioscience at the University of Glasgow, followed by a Masters in Environmental Management at the University of Stirling. Leona is experienced in terrestrial and aquatic ecology and is acquainted with the diverse range of habitats and species across Scotland in both urban and rural environments, having worked in Glasgow, Orkney Islands and Dumfries & Galloway. Within Surface, Leona works as the Scottish team lead for the ecology team, providing senior technical expertise and project direction. Leona has been involved in numerous development projects, demonstrating a forward thinking and pragmatic approach to the assessment and management of ecological and environmental aspects.
Leona has technical capabilities in freshwater, marine and terrestrial ecology and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) marine interest group.
